The policy covers statutory liability arising from the freelance practice of law as a lawyer licensed in Germany in dealings with clients. Insurance coverage applies to liability claims asserted before the courts of European countries, Turkey, the Russian Federation, and other states of the former Soviet Union, as well as non-European territories of European states, the EU, or the EEA, and based on a violation of the laws of these states.
In addition to insurance coverage for financial, personal, and property damage, the policy also includes data protection and cyber first-party loss coverage, as well as activities related to advising on and practicing non-European law and activities before non-European courts.

Alternative Dispute Resolution
In the event of disputes between attorneys and their clients, the parties may, upon request, seek out-of-court dispute resolution through the bar association with jurisdiction over the attorney in question (pursuant to § 73(2)(3) and (5) of the Federal Lawyers’ Act (BRAO)).
The attorneys at the law firm Hugendubel.legal are authorized to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before the Bar Association’s Mediation Office, Rauchstraße 26, 10787 Berlin, www.s-d-r.org.
The European Commission also points out that the European Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform could only be used until July 19, 2025. New complaints are not possible. The European Commission now refers to list of tools for resolving consumer disputes.
